MAJOR PROJECT MILESTONE REACHED IN

CONSOLIDATED PROPERTY FILE SEARCH SYSTEM

SAN FRANCISCO – Last year, the Office initiated a project to replace over 208,000 physical paper files and other electronic documents with a single, integrated and searchable system, like a google search function for real estate documents.

This month the Office of the Assessor-Recorder reached a major milestone in its effort to modernize the office and preserve historical property documents by pushing forward its rollout of the Assessor Information Management System (AIMS).  Working with an OnBase technology solution, the Office developed a robust document management system to meet its operational needs.  The solution allows appraiser and staff to retrieve vital records using a variety of search functions including location, event date, parcel number or neighborhoods.

“After months of developing new system requirements and developing new processes, my staff and I are excited to see the fruits of our labor come forward in the launch of AIMS. This changes how we manage our work for the future and ensures that any person in the Office can now find any real property file at any time and immediately,” said Assessor Carmen Chu.
