Over 200,000 Documents Public Records Preserved in San Francisco Last Year

OVER 200,000 DOCUMENTS PUBLIC RECORDS PRESERVED
IN SAN FRANCISCO LAST YEAR
SAN FRANCISCO – Last fiscal year, 216,775 public documents ranging from public marriage licenses to property deeds, liens and trust were made part of the public record between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016. The total volume of recorded documents is roughly eight percent higher compared to the year before with the highest recordings of these types of documents: Reconveyance (27,780), Deed (25,330) and Deed of Trust (23,229).
Over the last five years, the number of recorded documents peaked in fiscal year 2012-13 with 288,239 documents made part of the public record. The largest change in volume recorded since that time includes documents related to mortgage re-financings.
